Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a fun and vibrant resort where guests vacation amongst giant set pieces of four favorite Disney movies:

  • The Lion King
  • The Little Mermaid
  • Finding Nemo
  • Cars

The atmosphere pays tribute to all the amazing artists whose creativity has entertained us for years and immerses guests into the worlds of their beloved Disney characters.  Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is great for families with exciting recreations and plenty of food options all geared to parents with kids.

While Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is considered a value resort, it’s unique in that it has family suites that sleep up to 6 adults.  In fact, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has 1120 family suites, themed after The Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo, each with a queen bed, one double-sized table bed, and one double-sized sleeper sofa.  The suites are a large 565 sq feet and have a small kitchen unit with a sink, mini fridge, and microwave, and start at $325, excluding tax.  There are also 864 The Little Mermaid themed standard rooms that have two double beds or one king bed.  The standard rooms are 277 sq feet and start at $136, excluding tax.  Check-in is 3:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am.

The Big Blue Pool, The Art of Animation Resorts

The Art of Animation Resorts has three pools, The Big Blue Pool, Cozy Cone Pool, and Flippin’ Fins Pool.  The Big Blue Pool is truly impressive with over 308,527 gallons of water which makes it the largest hotel pool at Walt Disney World.  The Big Blue Pool is surrounded by giant set pieces of Nemo’s friends and environment and has underwater speakers that play favorite Disney songs while guests swim.  The theme continues into the Schoolyard Sprayground which is a basic, but fun splash pad for kids to run around and cool off with Nemo and his father.

The Drop Off, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

The Drop Off Pool Bar is located conveniently next to The Big Blue pool and serves delicious drinks like Pina Colava ($10.00), Mango Margarita ($ 11.75), and Sunken Treasure ($ 9.50).  There are also wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks too.





Landscape of Flavors, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Landscape of Flavors, true to its name, and has a full range of selection of food while keeping with the themes throughout the resort.  It has everything from salad, burgers, pasta, pastries and ice cream, Mongolian Grilled Fish and Tandoori Chicken Thighs.  Landscape of Flavors serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  It’s open from 6:00 am – 12:00 am, which makes it very convenient when you have hungry children.  Landscape of Flavors accepts Disney Dining Plan Quick Service Credit and Snack Credits.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort also offers Disney Resorts Pizza Delivery for dinner and late night, which makes feeding the family even easier.

Pixel-Play Arcade, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Pixel- Play is the resort arcade featuring classic and new games, including a “World’s Largest Pac Man” and every Wednesday and Thursdays are Half Point Happy Hour.  Disney’s Art of Animation Resort also hosts a Movies Under the Stars, located on the grassy lawn between The Lion King building and Finding Nemo building.  Like other resorts, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has a scenic running trail that is 1.38 miles.

As a value resort, the Disney Transportation option at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the bus system that has a bus assigned to each of the four parks, the two water parks, and Disney Springs.  The bus ETA’s are digitally updated on a screen taking the guesswork out of schedule tracking.
