Happy Birthday…Little Princess….

Today my sweet little Princess turned 5 years old!

Where did the time go?  Some where along the line I blinked and she went from a cute chubby baby with no hair to a beautiful little girl.  It happened too fast!

I have the voices of complete strangers echoing through my head “Enjoy every moment, they grow up fast!”

Our day long celebration started off with the Princess climbing into bed with me this morning.  She snuggled up to me and whispered loudly “Mummy, I’m five!”.  There was breakfast in bed, Happy Birthday phone calls from loved ones and lots of tickling and snuggling.   Later we did a craft and played Candyland, the Princess’s favourite game, all before 10am!

My Birthday Girl danced around all day doing leaps and twirls and skipping from one place to the next.

It was so wonderful to see her so happy and excited!

We finished off the day with pizza for dinner, along with cake and gifts.  Of course, all the evening festivities took place in the trailer – it seems to be the “in” place to celebrate things these days!  Nana J celebrated with us and brought over the Milk Monkey’s gifts and as usual, brought over a gift for the Professor so he wouldn’t feel left out.

I just went in to check on my sweet, precious children as I do every night and found the Princess snuggled in bed with her big brother.  They looked peaceful – I wanted to squeeze them!  More often than not I live my life through my own eyes – I’m the star of my life story – but every once in a while I get a glimpse of life from my children’s perspective.  A moment of clarity washes over me.  Their story has just started and I’m only a supporting role.  I’ve been entrusted with the huge responsibility of guiding their little lives in the right direction.  My life right now is about teaching, caring for and protecting these little persons.  They have their whole lives ahead of them to do anything they want or be anything they dream.  I’ve been given the awesome privilege of providing a healthy and loving environment that allows their personalities to bloom while discovering what their futures hold.

I love, love, love being a mummy!

I love, love, love, LOVE being their mummy!!!
