We spent some more time at Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival and tried out some new things. If you missed Part 1 you can find it here.

Brazil’s Menu

Teriyaki Chicken Bun ($5.50)

This year Japan has a new menu and Bella had to try the Teriyaki Chicken Bun ($ 5.50). I’m pretty sure she was partly influenced by the short film Bao. Whatever the reason, she chose well because it was really good.

The large, steamed bun was filled with chicken and vegetables in a sweet teriyaki sauce. It wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet though, it had a nice savory balance to it. I have to say, I found this bun to be really worth the price.

The Croissant aux Escargots caught Elijah’s eye last year at the 2017 festival and he this year he decided he had to try it. Dan and I had escargots on our first dinner date and that inspired Elijah to go for it. He was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. The buttery, garlic escargots soaked the inside of the croissant. I don’t think he was expecting to enjoy it as much as he did.

Be prepared to get bites of whole escargots, I thought maybe there would be small bits, but was happy to see the croissant was full of them. We definitely recommend this dish to the adventurous foodies!

New Zealand

The Light Lab is such a cool area to check out. I think it’s especially fun for children. The black light area sells 3 different flavors of non-alcoholic slushies that you can either purchase as a flight, or each on their own. The drinks include a glow cube that can change color and make for a fun souvenir. The drinks are all about visual, so if you’re looking for your taste buds to be wowed, this is not the treat for you.
